Description
Since 1992, internationally known artist and social critic Soraida Martinez has been creating abstract paintings juxtaposed with written social commentaries that encourage peace, tolerance and social change. Soraida was born in Harlem in 1956 and her didatic Verdadism art and philosophy addresses racism, sexism, stereotypes, ethnocentrism and many of the issues that affect today's society. Because of her socially conscious art and message, in 2008 Soraida was selected by the U.S. Department of State as one of 15 prominent Hispanic-Americans shaping the U.S. cultural scene.
Soraida Verdadism Art Gallery is located at 220 South Berlin Road, Lindenwold, New Jersey. The gallery space is in a 110 year old Queen Anne Victorian building, located minutes from Philadelphia and within close proximity to New York City. With over three rooms of exhibition space, gallery visitors are introduced to original paintings, the Verdadism Art Book, limited edition and open edition fine art prints, and original peace and hope ink drawings.
Everyone is welcome at the Verdadism Art Gallery. Educators bring students to the gallery in an effort to teach tolerance and understanding.
